Saline Memorial Hospital (SMH) is a full-service, 167-bed facility that has served Saline County and the surrounding areas for more than 55 years.
Located in Benton, Arkansas, SMH now serves the community as a comprehensive medical center offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including but not limited to, cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, orthopedics, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, psychiatric, and wound care.
The hospital's diagnostic imaging center offers a 64-slice digital CT Scanner, while a $9 million, 32,000-square foot surgery center meets the growing surgical needs of the community. The medical staff consists of more than 200 active and consulting physicians.
The hospital campus encompasses approximately 400,000 square feet of inpatient and outpatient treatment areas and a separate home health/hospice unit. The hospital also manages an internal medicine practice, a general surgery practice, and two women's clinics.
Emergency Medical Care
The Saline Memorial Hospital Emergency Department cares for patients seeking immediate treatment for medical or surgical emergencies.
SMH initiates life-saving procedures in all types of emergencies and provides care for other conditions and minor injuries with an around-the-clock team of emergency physicians, RNs, and support staff. The new SMH Emergency Department offers 14 examination rooms, including three specialty trauma rooms.
SMH owns and operates MedTran Ambulance Service, which is responsible for providing emergency medical response and pre-hospital care as well as medically necessary transfers of patients between facilities.
In January of 2012, SMH announced a new relationship with Arkansas Heart Hospital to provide diagnostic, non-invasive testing, and invasive services at SMH along with 24/7 call coverage.
This partnership with Arkansas Heart Hospital provides patients with the opportunity to receive care from specialists in Saline County and allows seamless access to specialty services at Arkansas Heart Hospital when appropriate.
